Kyrgyzstan eyes Pakistan’s ports as gateway to global markets

Kyrgyzstan expects to use Pakistan’s seaports as a gateway to South Asian markets and global trade routes, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said following talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

“Transport and logistics issues held a special place in our negotiations. Pakistan’s seaports are a natural gateway for Kyrgyzstan to the markets of South Asia and, further, to global trade routes,” he noted.

Japarov added that Kyrgyzstan, in turn, could become an important transport bridge for Pakistan to the markets of Central Asia and the wider Eurasian space.
