Hezbollah suffers heavy losses as Israel expands northern operations PHOTO/VIDEO
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that its 91st Division has neutralized dozens of Hezbollah militants over the past 24 hours, as part of ongoing operations to protect northern Israeli communities.
“The 91st Division continues to expand targeted ground operations to safeguard residents of northern areas. A combat group from the Givati Brigade discovered two terrorist cells. Minutes after the discovery, IDF forces opened artillery fire and eliminated six militants, with no casualties among our troops,” the IDF said in a statement.
During a search for terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon on March 29, fighters from Reconnaissance Unit 869 encountered two militants who opened fire on IDF forces. The troops, supported by tanks and air assets, neutralized the militants within minutes of being spotted.
In addition, IDF forces targeted and destroyed an observation post used to monitor Israeli troop movements.
“The IDF will continue to act decisively against the Hezbollah terrorist organization, which has joined hostilities under the sponsorship of the Iranian regime, and will not allow harm to Israeli civilians,” the army added.
