Hezbollah vows to resist any Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon

Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, which drew Lebanon into the U.S.–Israel conflict against Iran after firing on Israel on March 2, has pledged to resist any Israeli attempt to occupy southern Lebanon, Reuters reports.

One of the group’s leaders, Hassan Fadlallah, described such an occupation as an “existential threat” to Lebanon as a state.

Earlier, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz stated that the Israeli army plans to occupy southern Lebanon up to the Litani River.
