Houthi missile attack on Yemen port kills security guard

Yemen’s military says the Iran-backed Houthi movement has attacked the Red Sea port of Mokha, which is controlled by the internationally recognised government, killing at least one security guard and injuring eight people.

Col. Majed al-Nazili, a military spokesman, said in a statement that the Houthis fired six ballistic missiles at the port in what he described as a “new terrorist aggression that targeted a vital civilian facility," Caliber.Az reports via foreign media. 

The attack also left two marines missing, according to al-Nazili.

Mokha is located on Yemen’s Red Sea coast and is controlled by forces aligned with the internationally recognised government.

The latest attack is part of a series of Houthi strikes targeting areas controlled by the government, as well as attacks involving Saudi Arabia.
