Houthis attack UK’s vessel
The UK's Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has announced that the Yemeni Shiite movement Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, has launched an attack on a British vessel near the port of Al Mukha in Yemen.
The captain reported a new Houthi attack involving a missile that exploded near the vessel. Fortunately, the crew was unharmed, and the ship is continuing on to its next port of call, Caliber.Az reports citing the UKMTO’s message on X.
The UKMTO has advised other vessels to navigate the area with "heightened caution" and requested that any suspicious activity be reported.
Earlier on June 27 UKMTO received a report from a third party of an attack on a vessel had taken place 83NM southwest of Al Hudaydah, Yemen. The nature of the attack was reported as a waterborne improvised explosive device. The vessel and crew were reported as safe and the vessel was proceeding to their next port of call. Military authorities continued to investigate. Vessels were advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.
