Houthis expand missile power with alleged Iranian supply network

14 May 2026 13:51

The Houthis have significantly expanded their missile capabilities in recent years, The Jerusalem Post reports, citing a report by the CAR analytical center.

An analysis of missile debris recovered over the past two years indicates that electronic components found in the weapons were manufactured within the same period, suggesting the existence of stable supply channels from Iran operating despite international sanctions.

The findings point to a sustained logistics network enabling the group, known as “Ansar Allah,” to access modern anti-ship, anti-aircraft, and ballistic missile systems. Analysts noted that the presence of relatively “fresh” electronics in the munitions indicates continued technological replenishment.

According to the report, this capability allows the Houthis to maintain a functional offensive arsenal capable of targeting maritime assets in the Red Sea and potentially altering the regional balance of power.
