Houthis officially designate US, UK as enemies

On the night of February 20, the pro-Iranian Yemeni Houthi group Ansar Allah decided to put the US and Britain on the list of hostile states due to their support for Israel.

The attitude towards them should be based on the "principle of confrontation", the "president" of the Houthis, Mahdi al-Mashat signed a presidential decree to this effect, according to Detaly.co.il.

At the same time, on the night of February 20, the military spokesman of the Yemeni group announced that the militants attacked two American ships in the Strait of Aden, using "appropriate naval missiles."

This brings the total number of Houthi attacks on US and British ships to four in the last 24 hours. A spokesman for the Houthis named the vessels they attacked as Sea Champion and Navis Fortuna.

The day before, the militants managed to sink the UK-affiliated ship Rubymar.
