Houthis claim attack on Saudi forces off Yemen’s Red Sea coast VIDEO / UPDATED

Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis claimed responsibility for an attack on Saudi forces off the coast of the Red Sea port of Mokha.

According to the group, the target was a Saudi amphibious assault ship and four escort boats. Several ballistic missiles were reportedly used in the attack.

The Houthis also said they struck a weapons depot at the Sahn al-Jinn camp in Yemen’s Marib province using several drones.

The group signalled its intention to continue attacks against Saudi forces.

The Houthis launched five ballistic missiles at targets in the area of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a source in the Yemeni Armed Forces said.

According to the source, four missiles struck an empty vessel, while another fell into the water. The ship had reportedly been seized earlier by Yemeni naval forces for allegedly being used to smuggle equipment intended for the production of Houthi missiles and drones.

Shelling of the port of Mokha on the Red Sea coast has also reportedly resumed.
