Houthis target two Saudi tankers over alleged blockade breach VIDEO

Yemen’s Houthi movement, Ansar Allah, has claimed responsibility for attacks on two oil tankers, saying the strikes were carried out in response to violations of a Saudi-imposed maritime blockade.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree announced on July 23 that Houthi forces had targeted two Saudi oil tankers for allegedly breaching the blockade in the Red Sea, Caliber.Az reports, citing Al Jazeera.

The vessels were identified as Encelia and Layla.

Saree said the operation involved multiple ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. He claimed that fires broke out on both tankers following the attacks and added that around 10 other vessels abandoned their routes and turned back as a result of the incident.

Saudi media confirmed that one of the vessels had been struck, while reporting that all crew members aboard the Encelia were safe.
