How long will Russia's war with Ukraine last? Fitch forecast

The international agency Fitch Ratings predicts a very protracted war between Russia and Ukraine. Neither side can gain a decisive advantage.

The war will continue through 2024 and into 2025 within its current parameters, Caliber.Az reports, citing the report of Fitch Ratings.

"While it is unclear whether either side can gain a decisive advantage, there is also no indication of a willingness to make concessions, so the war could be very protracted," the report says.

In the longer term, the agency expects some form of settlement, but sees a "frozen conflict" as more likely than a sustainable peace agreement, at least for a significant period.
