How many times has Trump pledged to resolve Ukraine crisis? Figures by US media
Donald Trump, the Republican president-elect, has publicly pledged at least 33 times since January 2023 that he would bring an end to the ongoing war in Ukraine on his first day in office.
These figures were reported by the American portal Axios, highlighting Trump’s frequent statements about what he plans to do immediately after assuming the presidency, per Caliber.Az.
Trump has repeatedly emphasized that on day one of his presidency, he would ensure an end to the conflict in Ukraine. This promise, made in interviews and public speeches between January 1, 2023, and December 6, 2024, ranks as his most frequently mentioned priority. In total, Trump made this statement 33 times during the period.
Following closely behind, Trump's promise to close the US border to undocumented migrants on his first day was mentioned 32 times. Additionally, he made 26 promises related to limiting funding for schools that require vaccinations or teach that racism is entrenched in the US Trump also vowed 25 times to “launch the largest operation to deport” illegal migrants, and 22 times he promised to stop the forced transition to electric vehicles.
However, Axios also noted a shift in the tone of Trump’s statements regarding the resolution of the Ukraine conflict. In a recent interview with Paris Match magazine, following a trip to France, Trump acknowledged the importance of the situation in the Middle East but remarked that resolving the Ukraine-Russia conflict was “not as difficult.”
Trump, who won the 2024 presidential election on November 5, is set to be inaugurated on January 20, 2025. His consistent pledges to end the Ukraine war and his other promises continue to shape his campaign rhetoric as he prepares for his return to the White House.
