Hundreds of Afghans return home after release from Pakistani prisons

A total of 485 Afghan nationals who had been held in Pakistani prisons and were recently released returned to their home country on June 17, according to Xinhua, citing Afghanistan’s state radio and television company (RTA).
The returnees included both individuals and entire families. They had been detained for violating immigration laws and lacking valid residency documents.
After crossing the border, the former detainees received necessary assistance at border checkpoints before being sent to their respective home provinces.
Earlier, over the weekend, another 763 Afghan citizens who had been released from Pakistani prisons also returned to Afghanistan.
