Hundreds of vehicles waiting to enter Lithuania and Poland from Belarus
More than 350 passenger cars are waiting to enter Lithuania and Poland ahead of the weekend.
According to BelTA, citing the State Border Committee, around 170 trucks are also queued at the Lithuanian border.
At the “Medininkai” checkpoint (Belarusian side: “Kamenny Log”) and “Šalčininkai” checkpoint (Belarusian side: “Beniakoni”), border services processed 11% and 30% of freight traffic over the past 24 hours respectively.
In addition, 20 passenger cars are waiting to enter the EU at these crossings. Lithuanian authorities reportedly processed about 13% of the normal traffic volume.
On the Polish border, 130 trucks are queued at the “Kukuryki” checkpoint (Belarusian side: “Kozlovichi”), with 52% of the daily norm processed over the past day.
At the “Terespol” (Belarusian side: “Brest”) and “Kuźnica Białostocka” (Belarusian side: “Bruzgi”) crossings, 335 passenger cars are waiting to enter. Polish authorities processed about 31% of the normal traffic volume over the past 24 hours.
