Hungarian PM criticises Ursula von der Leyen 's activity as modest Calls for new leadership in EC
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said that the successes of the European Commission (EC) and the European political establishment during the five years of Ursula von der Leyen's tenure as EC head turned out to be modest.
He made the remarks in a conversation with the German media group Funke, adding that another politician should take her post, Caliber.Az reports.
“The past five years have been perhaps the worst five years in the history of the EU. The successes of the European Commission and the Brussels elite are weak,” he emphasized, noting the “low efficiency” of the head of the EC.
According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, the “green” transformation of European economies has proven to be a failure; the migration package of measures proposed by Brussels does not solve the problems of EU countries with migrants. In this regard, Orbán believes, Europe needs more effective leaders. At the same time, the Hungarian prime minister refused to name specific names.
Prior to this, Orban called the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, a “servant girl” in comparison with the “Beelzebub” - the head of the European People's Party (EPP) Manfred Weber.
