Hungarian PM Orban aims to classify Antifa as terrorist organisation
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has announced his intention to initiate the inclusion of the “Antifa” movement on Hungary’s list of terrorist organisations.
He spoke about his plans during an interview on Kossuth Radio, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Orban said he welcomed the U.S. authorities’ decision to recognise Antifa as a terrorist organisation.
“I… intend to initiate the same here in Hungary. Antifa is indeed a terrorist organisation… Therefore, I believe… it is time in Hungary to classify organisations like Antifa as terrorist, following the American model,” the Prime Minister said.
On September 18, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on his social media platform Truth Social that he recognises Antifa as a terrorist organisation. The American leader described it as a “sick, dangerous, radical left disaster” and also urged relevant agencies to conduct thorough investigations into those who fund Antifa.
Previously in the U.S., the groups Los Choneros and Los Lobos were also designated as terrorist organisations.
