Hungarian PM slams EU for overstepping on migration
09 September 2024 18:58
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has criticized the European Union's leadership for attempting to impose its migration policies on member states.
In a statement, Orban emphasized that decisions regarding migration should be made at the national level rather than being dictated by Brussels, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“The decision on migration should not be made by Brussels. It should be a decision of individual member states, as it is a matter of national sovereignty. Why do they (EU leadership) want to force us?” Orban remarked.
The PM's comments reflect ongoing tensions between Hungary and the EU over migration policies and national autonomy.
