Russia, Vietnam set to approve Comprehensive Cooperation Plan through 2030
Russia and Vietnam are set to approve a Comprehensive Cooperation Plan aimed at strengthening bilateral relations until 2030, as announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during his talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi.
"Today, we plan to approve the Comprehensive Plan of Cooperation between Russia and Vietnam, which is designed until 2030," Mishustin stated during the discussions, Caliber.Az reports referring to Russian media.
The Russian Prime Minister arrived in Vietnam for an official visit scheduled from January 14 to 15.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the significance of Mishustin's visit, particularly as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations. "Your visit is especially significant because it comes at a time when we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations," Chinh said during the talks. He also noted the favourable weather, joking that the Russian delegation "brought luck" with them, as the skies cleared up after a cloudy day.
“You came to us when our weather is good. It was cloudy the day before, but today it is quite bright. So, you have brought us luck,” the Vietnamese Prime Minister added.
Mishustin also highlighted the strong ties of friendship and mutual respect that bind Russia and Vietnam. "Russia and Vietnam are linked by strong ties of friendship and mutual respect. This year, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and Vietnam's declaration of independence, and we also mark the half-century anniversary of South Vietnam's liberation from US occupation," the Russian Prime Minister remarked.
He stressed that Vietnam is a key partner for Russia in Southeast Asia. "Through the governments' line, we ensure the effective implementation of agreements that have been reached at the highest level," Mishustin concluded.
