Lithuania begins military drills across 12 municipalities

Lithuania began new military exercises on September 14, with manoeuvres taking place across 12 municipalities in the country’s southeastern region, including areas near the capital Vilnius, LRT reports.

The exercises, running from September 14 through September 18, will focus on practising responses to various types of military threats.

The manoeuvres are expected to involve drones, boats and various weapon systems, although no live-fire exercises will be conducted.

The Lithuanian military said troops will train both during the day and at night and may move along public roads in military vehicles and civilian cars.
