Poland warns Russian drone attacks could reach its territory

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned that Russian drone attacks could affect Polish territory in the coming weeks and months.

“We must realise that, from today, we will be acting much more aggressively. In the coming weeks and months, Russia will be carrying out very intensive operations. We cannot rule out that this escalation will also affect our territory,” Tusk said at a briefing at the Government Security Centre, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media. 

Tusk said he hoped “the worst-case scenario will not come to pass”, but added that recent developments confirmed information Poland had been receiving for months that more serious scenarios were possible, including drone strikes on Polish territory.

“The night-time attacks demonstrate that the Russians are prepared to use more dangerous technology than ever before. I am referring to jet-powered drones. Their range and accuracy are cause for concern,” he said.

Tusk added that he would seek information on Poland’s preparedness for possible drone use and attempts to disrupt operations, including on railways and in workplaces.

“I do not rule out that such situations could occur here too,” he said.
