Hungarian PM to hold talks with EU, NATO leaders in Brussels
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar has announced a series of high-level meetings in Brussels this week, including talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on May 29.
Magyar said in a post on Facebook that he is also scheduled to meet NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever on May 28, Caliber.Az reports.
“Tomorrow in Brussels I will hold talks with the NATO Secretary General and the Belgian Prime Minister, and on Friday with the President of the European Commission,” Magyar wrote.
The Hungarian leader added that discussions would focus on economic issues and efforts to secure European funding for Hungary.
“Everyone is working to bring European trillions back home,” he said.
The meetings come as Hungary’s new government seeks to strengthen relations with the European Union and NATO following recent political changes in Budapest.
