Hungarian PM: Ukraine's counteroffensive must be prevented

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said that a counterattack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces must be prevented in order to avoid a large number of casualties, including those of the attacking side.

"Conducting major strategic offensives is a bloodbath. Even someone like me, who has only a year and a half of experience in the army, knows that the attacking side has three times as many casualties as the defending side. Before the Ukrainians launch a counterattack, we must do everything in our power to bring about a ceasefire and start peace talks," Orban said in an interview with the radio station Kossuth.
