Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has expressed confidence in victory as voters cast ballots in the parliamentary elections, according to foreign media.
Speaking to journalists after voting at a polling station, Orbán said: “I am here to win.”
He added that Europe is approaching a serious crisis and that Hungary needs strong national unity to face upcoming challenges.
According to Hungarian outlet Telex, Orbán was asked whether he would congratulate opposition leader Péter Magyar if he won the election. Orbán replied that he always respects civilised norms.
When asked what his first step would be the day after a potential victory, Orbán said he would thank the activists who helped mobilise the country.
