Hungary summons Russian envoy after drone strike on western Ukraine
13 May 2026 21:30
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar has said that the Russian ambassador will be summoned to the country’s Foreign Ministry following a large-scale drone attack on Zakarpattia (Transcarpathia), HVG reports.
The announcement came after the first meeting of Hungary’s new government on May 13, during which officials discussed the Russian mass strike on Ukraine, including the Transcarpathian region, carried out on May 13.
“The Hungarian government strongly condemns the Russian attack on Transcarpathia,” Magyar said.
He added that Foreign Minister Anita Orban has summoned the Russian ambassador for a meeting on May 14 at 11:30 in connection with the drone strike on the region.
