Hungary will not supply weapons to Ukraine, FM says
Hungary’s new government will not supply weapons to Ukraine and opposes the country’s fast-tracked accession to the European Union, Anita Orbán, Hungarian Foreign Minister, has stated.
At a press conference in Berlin following talks with her German counterpart Johann Wadephul, Orbán said, in doing so, she confirmed the position of the new Hungarian authorities, which had previously been outlined by Prime Minister Péter Magyar, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Responding to a question from German journalists about Hungary’s approach to Ukraine, Orbán said: “Hungary supports the accession of any other country to the EU based on merit. As for arms deliveries, our position is absolutely clear. We stated it during the election campaign. We do not support the transport of weapons to Ukraine. Hungary will not supply weapons to Ukraine.”
