IAEA chief confirms Iran holds no nuclear weapons
03 March 2026 09:19
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi affirmed that Iran does not have nuclear weapons.
Speaking to the BBC, Grossi noted that recent explosions near Isfahan, occurring during the Israeli and US military operation, did not damage Iran’s nuclear facilities, though the IAEA recorded minor damage at the Natanz site.
Commenting on the situation, he suggested that the primary goal of the current operation against Iran is not strikes on nuclear facilities, unlike the June 2025 operation when the US targeted three nuclear sites in Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz.
