IAEA chief off to Ukraine

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has left for Ukraine, where he will meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Grossi made the remarks on Twitter. He will also visit the Zaporizhzhya NPP (ZAES).

"On my way to Ukraine to meet President Zelenskyy and present a programme of assistance in the aftermath of the catastrophic Nova Kakhovka dam flooding. I will assess the situation at Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant and conduct a rotation of ISAMZ [IAEA Support and Assistance Mission to Zaporizhzhya] with a strengthened team," he tweeted.

The visit of Rafael Grossi was announced a week ago. The IAEA confirmed his trip on June 11.
