IAEA chief Grossi welcomes US-Iran memorandum
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi has welcomed the signing of the US-Iran memorandum, saying that the agreement paves the way for joint technical work by the US and Iranian delegations.
Speaking at a press conference, the IAEA chief also did not rule out attending the official signing ceremony of the memorandum, which US media reports say is scheduled to take place in Switzerland on June 19, Caliber.Az reports, citing the UN News.
“Now it's for us to sit down with our American colleagues, our Iranian colleagues and start formulating the concrete steps that will have to be taken. So, I think it's good that the memorandum is there. Now the technical work starts,” he noted.
Grossi further warned against speculation regarding the parameters of a future agreement on Iran’s nuclear program, the timeline for its completion, and potential obstacles in the negotiations.
