IDF Air Force strikes over 100 targets across Gaza strip
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF), in coordination with the Aman military intelligence agency and the Shabak general security service, continue military operations across the Gaza Strip, according to a statement released by the IDF press office.
In the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis, IDF ground units are engaged in dismantling militant infrastructure. During the course of these operations, troops encountered a group of militants who had detonated an explosive device targeting IDF forces. Although there were no casualties, the military responded by deploying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to eliminate the attackers.
Simultaneously, IDF units are conducting operations in northern Gaza, targeting weapons caches and militant infrastructure located both above and below ground. These missions also involve the elimination of combatants.
Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli Air Force has conducted airstrikes on more than 100 targets throughout the Gaza Strip in support of ground operations. Among the objectives struck were militant groups, tunnel networks, military compounds, firing positions, and weapons storage facilities.
The current conflict began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a massive and unprecedented rocket barrage from Gaza into Israeli territory. Armed militants then breached the border, attacking military outposts and civilian areas, and abducting more than 200 hostages.
In response, Israel launched Operation Iron Swords, which has included widespread airstrikes—many impacting civilian areas—and a comprehensive blockade of the Gaza Strip.
