The Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, conducted a preliminary inquiry on the night of July 10 at the site of the deadly shooting at Gush Etzion Junction, where an Israeli civilian was killed in a terror attack.

Zamir was joined by Major General Avi Bluth, Commander of the Central Command, and Brigadier General Yaki Dolf, Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Caliber.Az reports per the IDF statement.

The Chief of the General Staff noted that this was a severe terrorist attack and shared his condolences with the victim’s family.

He commended the quick response of IDF troops and civilian security personnel, emphasising that their vigilance helped prevent a larger-scale attack. Zamir also instructed continued counterterrorism operations throughout the West Bank, particularly in the Judea and Samaria region.

The shooting took place on July 10 in the parking lot of the Harim Mall, near the Gush Etzion Junction. Zevuloni, who was working as a security guard in the nearby settlement of Efrat, was shot and killed by two gunmen. The incident marked the first deadly attack in the West Bank in nearly two months.

According to Israeli officials, the assailants were killed shortly after the shooting in a brief firefight with armed Israeli civilians. Following the attack, IDF forces encircled the nearby Palestinian town of Halhul and imposed road closures in the area as part of the ongoing security response.
