IDF confirms deaths of two Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon

Two Israeli soldiers were killed during combat operations in southern Lebanon, while four others sustained serious injuries, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced.

According to Israeli media reports, an explosion occurred as Israeli troops entered a building near the village of Majdal Zoun.

Reserve Major Harel Birenstock, 34, a company commander from Nokdim, and Reserve Sergeant Major Tamir Vaknin, 33, from Eilat, were identified as the soldiers killed. Both served in the 2855th Battalion of the 55th Paratroopers Brigade.

Following the blast, the IDF launched strikes against Hezbollah targets in the area.
