IDF destroys Hamas rocket launchers used in recent strike on Israel
In the early hours of December 29, the Israeli Defence Forces have successfully destroyed Hamas rocket launchers in the Gaza Strip which were deployed by the terrorist to shell central and southern Israel only the previous day.
The press service of the IDF has confirmed this strike, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the press release, the targeted launchers contained an additional rocket when the IDF attack occurred, indicating, that the Hamas terrorists were likely preparing for a renewed assault on Israel.
As Caliber.Az recalls, Israeli air defenses intercepted two rockets fired on December 28 from Gaza’s Beit Hanoun towards several regions, including the Jerusalem area. The IDF had launched a new operation against Hamas in the Beit Hanoun on December 27, according to the Times of Israel. While direct launches from Gaza have become an increasingly rare occurrence after nearly 15 months of war, Hamas militants have previously fired rockets from those same areas where the IDF was advancing in an attempt to hold them back. Israel has entered Beit Hanoun already several times since the beginning of the war, but it was unable to destroy all of the Hamas infrastructure present.
