IDF destroys residence of Ahmad Abu al-Rub, killer in northern Israel assault
The Israel Defence Forces announced that troops from the Menashe Brigade had demolished the home of Ahmad Abu al-Rub, the perpetrator of a combined terrorist attack in the Harod Valley, northern Israel.
According to the IDF press office, the overnight operation on January 13 involved multiple units: the Nahal Brigade’s reconnaissance company, the Yahalom engineering special forces unit, and the Magav Yiftach Border Police. The joint force carried out the demolition in the town of Qabatiya, which falls under the Menashe Brigade’s jurisdiction.
Ahmad Abu al-Rub carried out the combined attack on December 26, 2025, in the Harod Valley. The assault resulted in the deaths of Shimshon Mordechai and Aviv Maor, and left additional civilians wounded.
The IDF stated that the house had been sealed roughly two and a half weeks earlier during military activity in the village immediately after the attack. Its demolition was carried out in accordance with that earlier step.
While the demolition was underway, Nahal reconnaissance troops conducted parallel operations in the surrounding area, detaining and interrogating individuals suspected of involvement in terrorist activity.
