IDF eliminates three Hezbollah militants, including Lebanese intelligence agent PHOTO
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have eliminated three Hezbollah militants, including one who also served in the Lebanese army.
According to an IDF statement on Telegram, the militants were preparing attacks against IDF forces and restoring Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure in the Sidon area of southern Lebanon, Caliber.Az reports.
“From an initial review, it was found that one of the terrorists eliminated during the strike simultaneously served in the Lebanese intelligence unit. During the strike, two additional terrorists were eliminated, including one who operated in Hezbollah's aerial defense array in the area of Sidon,” the statement read.
The IDF condemned the cooperation between the Lebanese military and Hezbollah and stated it will continue acting to neutralise any threats to Israeli civilians.
Israel has ramped up airstrikes across southern and northeastern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and weapons caches as the deadline for a US‑brokered ceasefire and disarmament plan from November 2024 approaches.
These operations seek to weaken Hezbollah’s military strength while Lebanese, US, French, and Saudi officials finalise a disarmament strategy.
