IDF finds large cache of mortar shells concealed in UN relief supplies in Gaza
Israeli military forces have uncovered roughly 110 mortar shells hidden inside bags of humanitarian aid belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) near the so-called Yellow Line.
According to Caliber.Az, the Israel Defence Forces announced the discovery in an official statement.
The IDF said troops from the Gaza Division’s 7th Brigade are continuing operations in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, east of the Yellow Line, aimed at dismantling both surface and underground infrastructure used by terrorist organisations in the area.
During these operations, soldiers located approximately 110 mortar shells, several rockets, and additional weapons. The munitions had been concealed inside blankets and UNRWA humanitarian aid bags, the statement added.
