IDF: Israel strikes over 160 targets in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that its air force struck more than 160 sites across the Gaza Strip on September 29, as part of continuing operations in the territory.
According to the IDF statement, the targets included weapons storage facilities, observation posts, and other infrastructure used by armed groups, Caliber.Az reports.
In Gaza City, Israeli troops identified two individuals reportedly approaching their position with weapons. The IDF said both were killed in a subsequent strike.
Additional air and ground operations in the city targeted a person described by Israeli intelligence as a "local cell leader," another carrying an RPG, and two others who allegedly moved toward troops and "posed a threat to them."
In the northern part of the Gaza Strip, the military reported dismantling multiple structures and intelligence-related sites.
The IDF stated that its actions were based on intelligence provided jointly by its own forces and Israel's internal security agency, the ISA.
