IDF kills Hamas commander behind Oct. 7 attack on army post
Israel has confirmed the elimination of two senior Hamas members in the Gaza Strip, one of which belonged to the terrorist organization’s elite “Nukhba” forces.
The operation was carried out by the IDF in partnership with Israel’s internal security service, commonly known as Shin Bet, Caliber.Az reports referring to the military's press service.
According to the press statement, one of the eliminated terrorists is Fahmi Salami, a commander of the elite Nukhba unit, the special forces of Hamas’ military wing, commonly known as the Al-Qassam Brigades.
He was killed in an airstrike on a building that had previously served as the Al-Falah school and is believed to have led the attack on the “Paga” military post in Gaza on October 7 that killed 14 Israeli soldiers. The IDF reported that he continued to lead terror operations throughout the ongoing conflict while being part of the Zeitoun Battalion.
The second eliminated Hamas member is Salah Dahman, the Head of Hamas’s paraglider unit, who was killed during a separate strike in the Jabalia area, located north of Gaza City and was responsible for overseeing the group’s aerial activities.
