IDF: Military forces struck Hezbollah, Hamas targets in Lebanon Video
The Israeli military said that it carried out a series of strikes on January 5 on militant infrastructure sites belonging to Hezbollah and Hamas in several areas of Lebanon.
According to the statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the targets included weapons storage facilities and military structures, both above and below ground, which it said were used by Hezbollah to prepare attacks on Israeli forces and to rebuild its military capabilities, Caliber.Az reports.
The IDF also said it struck what it described as Hamas weapons production sites in southern Lebanon, which it said were used to support the group’s military buildup and operations against Israel.
The Israeli military said the sites were located in civilian areas and accused the groups of operating among the civilian population. It said it had taken steps to reduce the risk to civilians, including issuing advance warnings before the strikes.
According to the IDF, the activity at the targeted sites violated the ceasefire understandings between Israel and Lebanon and posed a threat to Israel’s security.
