IDF: Over 900 Hezbollah-linked sites destroyed in Bint Jbeil operation
The Israeli military says more than 900 Hezbollah-linked infrastructure sites have been destroyed during ongoing operations in the Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil.
According to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), units from the Paratroopers, Givati, Commando and Fire Formation brigades, operating under the 98th Division, have been active in the area over recent weeks with the aim of dismantling militant infrastructure and neutralising threats.
The IDF said that during the operation, more than 200 militants were killed in close-quarters engagements and airstrikes. It also reported the discovery of hundreds of weapons and other military equipment.
As part of the activity, the Israeli Air Force, working with ground forces, struck and destroyed the town’s stadium after it was identified as being rigged with explosives, according to the military.
The IDF said it will continue operations against what it described as threats to Israeli civilians and its forces, in line with directives from the political leadership.
