IDF reports deaths of seven soldiers in southern Gaza

Seven soldiers of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) were killed during combat operations against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the IDF spokesperson’s unit.

The soldiers died following the explosion of an armoured personnel carrier in the city of Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza. One additional soldier was seriously wounded in the incident.

All of the casualties belonged to the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion of the IDF’s Barak Brigade.

With this latest incident, the total number of Israeli military personnel killed since the outbreak of the latest round of conflict in the Middle East has reached 878, according to the IDF.
