IDF reports dismantling of underground tunnels in central Gaza VIDEO
Over the past month, Israeli military forces, including troops from the Southern Regional Brigade, the Gaza Division’s Combat Engineering Corps, and Yahalom units, carried out operations in the central Gaza Strip targeting underground tunnel infrastructure.
According to the military, the forces uncovered and dismantled two underground tunnel routes used for military purposes. One of the tunnels reportedly contained multiple exit shafts, living quarters, and supplies, Caliber.Az reports per the IDF statement.
Israeli forces said they sealed the tunnel by filling it with concrete. Another tunnel, described as hundreds of meters long, was also dismantled during the operation.
The IDF stated that the operation resulted in the elimination of several militants and the destruction of both above-ground and underground military infrastructure, with the goal of expanding the security zone along the border. Israeli forces said they continue to conduct operations in the Gaza Strip to address security threats in the area.
