IDF says 16 aircraft destroyed at Iran’s Mehrabad Airport in strike
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on its Telegram channel that it had destroyed airliners at Iran’s Mehrabad International Airport that were allegedly transporting weapons for the Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah.
In a press release, the IDF specified that it had destroyed 16 aircraft belonging to the Quds Force. According to the statement, the weapons carried by these aircraft were allegedly supplied to Hezbollah.
“Mehrabad Airport was used by the Quds Force of the IRGC and served as a central hub for arming and funding the regime’s terrorist proxies in the Middle East,” the IDF claimed.
The IDF also added that several Iranian fighter jets were struck during the attack, as they posed a threat to Israeli Air Force aircraft operating in the airspace of the Islamic Republic.
