IDF says it killed militant in northern Gaza planning attacks
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that it had killed a militant in the northern Gaza Strip who was allegedly planning imminent attacks against Israeli forces and had previously been involved in organising operations on Israeli territory.
In a statement, the IDF said forces under the Southern Command carried out a strike in the area, targeting what it described as an individual posing an immediate threat.
“In the past day (Thursday), IDF forces under the command of the Southern Command carried out a strike in northern Gaza and eliminated a militant who was planning to carry out a series of attacks against IDF forces in the very near future,” the military said.
It added that its units remained deployed in the area “in accordance with the agreement” and would continue operations aimed at neutralising any immediate threats.
