IDF says it eliminated armed Hamas members in Gaza Strip
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it carried out strikes earlier this week and on April 14 targeting armed Hamas members in the Gaza Strip, describing the operations as responses to immediate threats to its troops.
According to the IDF, on the night of April 13 its forces identified armed Hamas members in the central Gaza Strip. In a separate incident earlier on April 14, troops said they detected an armed individual in the Yellow Line area who approached their position and posed an immediate threat in the northern Gaza Strip, Caliber.Az reports.
“In both incidents, immediately upon identifying the threat, IDF troops carried out precise strikes and eliminated the terrorists in order to remove the immediate danger to the troops,” the military said.
The IDF added that Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in line with existing arrangements and will continue operations to address what it described as immediate threats to its personnel.
