IDF says troops seize Hezbollah rocket cache in southern Lebanon raid Photo
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its troops have uncovered a stockpile of rockets and launchers belonging to Hezbollah during an operation in southern Lebanon.
According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Office, special forces from the Givati Brigade, operating under the 91st Division, carried out a targeted raid in what Israel describes as a frontline defensive zone, Caliber.Az reports.
"As part of a targeted operation earlier today [May 4], unit fighters conducted a raid in the area of Hezbollah’s launchers in southern Lebanon, where they discovered dozens of rockets and other types of weapons, including Kalashnikov assault rifles, RPGs, and combat gear used by the organization’s militants," the statement noted.
The military added that its forces also located loaded rocket launchers that were reportedly aimed at Israeli positions in southern Lebanon and at Israeli territory.
According to the IDF, the same area had previously been used by Hezbollah to fire dozens of rockets at Israeli forces and civilians.
The military said the weapons were ready for immediate use and included rocket systems, assault rifles, RPG launchers, and other combat equipment.
