IDF soldiers injured after armoured vehicle strikes explosive in Gaza

An Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) armoured personnel carrier struck an explosive device in the Zaytun area, located southeast of Gaza City, leaving seven soldiers wounded.

According to Israeli media, one of the injured soldiers sustained moderate injuries, while the remaining six suffered minor wounds. All seven were evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and their families have been notified.

As of now, five of the wounded soldiers have already been discharged from the hospital, while the remaining two continue to receive treatment. The IDF press service has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.

This comes amid heightened tension and ongoing operations in the Gaza Strip as Israel continues military activities in the area.

The incident follows another report from August 29, when a female IDF soldier was seriously injured during a military exercise at a base in central Israel. The soldier was promptly evacuated to a hospital, where she is receiving the necessary medical care. Her family has been informed of the situation.

The IDF stated that military police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the training accident. Details about the nature of her injuries and the specific cause of the incident have not been disclosed.

Additionally, earlier this week, the IDF confirmed that it had carried out a highly secretive operation in the central Gaza Strip aimed at recovering the bodies of two Israeli hostages who had been killed by Hamas militants.

According to the IDF, the mission was part of a broader, ongoing effort to recover both surviving hostages and the remains of Israeli citizens held in Gaza. The operation involved special forces units, engineering teams, and air force support, and was conducted with a high degree of secrecy to ensure the maximum safety of the personnel involved during operations in an area of active combat.
