IDF strikes continue in Gaza and Lebanon, 110 militants taken out VIDEO

07 November 2024 12:24

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have intensified their operations in the northern Gaza Strip, focusing on the Jabaliya and Bayt Lahiya areas, where they have eliminated around 50 Hamas militants and destroyed significant military infrastructure over the past 24 hours.

According to a statement from the army's press service, the IDF continues to carry out targeted strikes against Hamas positions in these regions, Caliber.Az reports.

In addition to these strikes, several Hamas militants were neutralized in the Rafah neighbourhood, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. This operation is part of Israel’s broader strategy to dismantle Hamas’s military capabilities across Gaza.

Simultaneously, the Israeli Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.

Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli Air Force struck approximately 20 targets in Baalbek and along the northern bank of the Litani River, resulting in the death of approximately 60 Hezbollah militants. The IDF also attacked a range of military infrastructure in southern Lebanon, including weapons depots, military buildings, and missile installations.

In a related development, IDF Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi addressed the evolving military situation, particularly regarding the conflict in Lebanon. Halevi called for the continued development of plans to deepen and expand Israel’s ground operations in Lebanon, stating that these plans would be activated if necessary. His comments came after two rocket attacks were launched from Lebanon into Israeli territory on November 6, highlighting the ongoing threat from Hezbollah.

During a meeting to assess the operational situation, Halevi stressed the importance of maintaining both diplomatic efforts for a peaceful resolution and military preparedness to escalate ground operations if required. He confirmed that the IDF would continue to target Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, Beirut, and even Syria as part of the broader strategy to neutralize the threat posed by Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, Israel is undergoing a significant political shift amid ongoing military operations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the decision to fire Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, replacing him with Foreign Minister Israel Katz. Netanyahu cited a breakdown in trust between himself and Gallant as the main reason for the dismissal, emphasizing that full trust between the prime minister and defense minister is critical during times of war.

Netanyahu explained that while there had been strong cooperation between the two during the early stages of the conflict, trust between them had deteriorated in recent months. He accused Gallant of making decisions and public statements that were inconsistent with government positions, which, according to Netanyahu, had given Israel's enemies an opportunity to exploit these differences.
