IDF strikes dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon

27 November 2025 17:44

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), acting on intelligence, carried out strikes that dismantled Hezbollah terror infrastructure across multiple locations in southern Lebanon.

During these operations, the IDF targeted several launch sites where Hezbollah stored weapons, Caliber.Az reports, citing the army press service.

The strikes also hit a weapons storage facility, military posts used by Hezbollah to plan and execute attacks against IDF forces, and other terror infrastructure sites.

“The presence of the infrastructure sites and the activity of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation in these areas constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

The IDF will continue to operate to remove any threat to the State of Israel and continues to be committed to the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the statement read.

Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah went into effect in November 2024, the IDF has nevertheless stepped up airstrikes across southern Lebanon and in Beirut’s suburbs, claiming the strikes target Hezbollah’s military infrastructure.

The strikes frequently follow evacuation warnings to residents near alleged Hezbollah facilities, and the IDF says many of the targets are weapons storage sites, launch pads, or underground drone‑production facilities.

Human‑rights organisations argue that the IDF’s destruction of civilian structures — including homes, farmland, and public facilities — in southern Lebanon since late 2024 amounts to widespread and deliberate damage that may violate international humanitarian law.

International bodies such as the United Nations and the European Union have condemned many of these strikes, urging restraint, calling for impartial investigations into civilian harm, and demanding respect for the ceasefire terms.
