Earlier, the military announced the elimination of a Hezbollah fighter operating in southern Lebanon as part of the IDF’s forward defensive deployment.
It said, in a post on Telegram, that an Israeli Air Force aircraft detected a UAV in flight that was assessed as posing a threat to Israeli forces operating in the area.
The drone subsequently landed, after which a Hezbollah operative arrived to recover it.
The Israeli Air Force then carried out a rapid strike, killing the individual identified as a member of the Hezbollah group.
The IDF made it clear that its air force will continue operations aimed at protecting and supporting Israeli ground troops in southern Lebanon.
