IDF targets Hamas command centres in Gaza Strip
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have targeted multiple Hamas command centres in the Gaza Strip.
According to a statement from the IDF press service, the Israel Air Force (IAF), guided by Military Intelligence and Southern Command, launched strikes on facilities used by Hamas operatives to plan and execute terrorist activities against Israeli forces and the State of Israel, Caliber.Az reports.
“Some time ago, on the instructions of the Israel Defense Forces intelligence, the Israel Air Force launched a precision strike against Hamas terrorists who were operating in a command centre in the central part of the Gaza Strip. The command and control centre, located in the former Al-Bureij Preparatory School compound, was used by the terrorists to plan and carry out terrorist attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel,” the IDF stated.
Initial strikes focused on a tent in the Nuseirat area, also in central Gaza. "The terrorists posed an immediate threat to IDF forces," the IDF emphasized in the report.
Later overnight, the IDF also targeted additional command centres in northern Gaza, specifically in former school compounds referred to as "Muskot" and "Rimal." A final strike targeted another facility previously used as a high school known as Brig High School in central Gaza, further highlighting Hamas' use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes.
All operations were executed based on actionable intelligence and were aimed at neutralizing immediate threats to Israeli forces. The IDF continues to monitor the situation closely, ensuring that their operations minimize risks to civilians while countering terrorist activities.
