India advises citizens to conserve fuel, avoid panic buying
Indian authorities have urged the public to use energy efficiently in their daily lives and to avoid panic buying of petrol, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
The call comes from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, which emphasised that the government is taking measures to ensure uninterrupted fuel supplies, Caliber.Az reports, citing Indian media.
“Citizens are requested to make every effort to conserve energy in everyday use,” the ministry said in a statement.
Officials advised the public to refrain from stockpiling petrol and diesel and to avoid ordering LPG cylinders unnecessarily. The ministry also recommended using digital services when requesting LPG.
Where possible, residents are encouraged to use induction and electric stoves, as well as alternative fuels such as kerosene and coal, to reduce pressure on supply systems.
India relies heavily on imports for both oil and liquefied natural gas. The ministry stressed that despite the crisis in the Middle East, the supply situation remains under control and there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG in the country.
